The History of Canopy Cove PDF Print E-mail

Providing a continuum of care for those who suffer from eating disorders has been Dr. Brogdon's vision since she began treating clients with eating disorders over 20 years ago.  Beginning her career as a diabetes specialist, she began to realize that the majority of her clients were struggling with eating disorders.  Her vision of providing programs that address multiple levels of treatment to include Residential, Partial Hospitilzation, and Outpatient treatment for males and females, adolescents and adults became a reality.

What Makes Canopy Cove Unique PDF Print E-mail

Canopy Cove uses a highly specialized and defined eating disorder treatment program.  We recognize that each eating disorder is as unique as you are.  When Dr. Brogdon began developing our program, she visited numerous existing treatment centers to get an idea of what worked well and what she felt could be improved.  From that she developed Canopy Cove's unique and highly successful approach to eating disorder treatment.  Our smaller groups provide a higher ratio of therapists to clients and foster an environment of trust.  Smaller groups also allow us to individualize treatment and meal plans to meet your exclusive needs and promote participation by all clients not just a few.  All of our programs include the following:

  • Treatment provided in a serene and secure environment
  • Continuity of staff throughout the entire treatment process
  • A small supportive group setting of less than 8 people
  • Comprehensive psychological assessments
  • Weekly family therapy and education
  • Spirituality and Equine therapy

We have the highest respect for you as you reach out for help and believe that criticism, judgement or taking away privileges have no place in eating disorder treatment.  Our unique program helps you learn life management skills and new coping mechanisms, practice them in a real-life environment and gain the confidence you need to resume your normal routine with minimal transitional obstacles.  Our success is measured by your ability to have a life free from the control of your eating disorder.
