Aftercare & Outpatient Treatment
Continued care is essential for recovery. Therefore, Canopy Cove makes every effort to establish an aftercare treatment team in your area. If you worked with a therapeutic team prior to your admission to Canopy Cove, we will communicate with them to establish a continuity of care for you. They will be provided with a treatment summary including recommendations for continued treatment.
Following your treatment at Canopy Cove, aftercare on an outpatient basis is provided through Health Management Institute (HMI) and is located on our property. To maintain continuity, your care through HMI will be provided by some of the members of our treatment team whom you received services from during your residential or partial hospitalization stay. We carefully assess your progress and make adjustments as needed. Continued care is available for as long as you need it.
Canopy Cove’s Outpatient Program is an important component of our continuum of treatment for those struggling with eating disorders.
Many clients transition through our levels of care from Residential Treatment to Partial Hospitalization, to Intensive Outpatient to Outpatient Care. The advantage of this process is that the continuity of care is provided by the same treatment team, allowing you to remain in the same secure environment.
For those who are struggling with an eating disorder but are uncertain of the level of care needed, an outpatient relationship can be developed to assess level of severity and type of treatment needed. Our psychological staff will work with you to evaluate your treatment needs, and will discuss recommendations for level of care. These recommendations may include remaining at the Outpatient level or proceeding to a higher level of care.
