Even if you don’t have a Facebook account, it seems that everyone knows about Facebook. Just this morning on the news I heard that Facebook is now on most people’s smartphones – you can see what it happening with your friends and family members anywhere you are. You can even know what your best friend from Kindergarten is doing for summer vacation while you walk your dog!
Did you know that Canopy Cove has a Facebook page? We use our Facebook page as a way to reach people who are struggling with an eating disorder and might not see us any other way. We also want our posts to be seen by people who need to see positive or uplifting pictures with encouraging words or sayings as they work on their own recovery from an eating disorder. If you are having a tough day it can be so helpful to see healthy statements instead of many of the negative messages so often found in social media. Even if you don’t have an eating disorder but know someone who does, Canopy Cove’s Facebook page can provide you comfort and information daily.
Right now you can go to our Facebook page and click “follow”. When you do that you will see pictures, videos and articles that are practical, encouraging and non-judging. We post pictures of things we are doing at Canopy Cove as well as information that can help you and your loved ones know about eating disorders and related issues. Please let all your Facebook friends know that you “LIKE” Canopy Cove and that you want them to benefit from our page. You can do your part to make Facebook and all social media a positive force for change while giving yourself a good gift too!
